The importance of preparing emergency plans, occupational health and waste management in your organization. Marcela Ivankovich

The organizations that are established in Costa Rican territory, whether they are agricultural, industrial, commercial, service or health activities, must apply to the Ministry of Health for the Sanitary Operation Permit (PSF), which aims to regulate activities that directly or indirectly affect the health of people and the environment.

Within the requirements to obtain the PSF and therefore, to carry out commercial activity in the country, is the implementation of emergency plans, occupational health and waste.

The purpose of these 3 plans is as follows:

  • • Emergency plans: Mitigate those emergencies or crisis situations that may arise, through an identification of threats, risk assessment, action plan, analysis of need and rehabilitation, and operational continuity. Currently, due to the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), it is essential to take this risk into account.
  • • Occupational health plans: Manages occupational risks that may affect employees due to situations in their jobs. This document identifies, classifies and establishes preventive measures, focused on ensuring the physical and mental health of workers.
  • • Waste plans: All activities generate waste, which can have different characteristics depending on the type of process carried out in companies. By means of a solid and liquid waste plan, they are identified, quantified, stored and disposed of properly, minimizing impacts to the environment.
    • Through the course, preparation of emergency plans, occupational health and waste, you will acquire the basis for the development of these important documents. Also ask about our advice on the subject.
